Local HR outsourcing and executive search company assists underprivileged children and creates platform for them to express their aspirations and hidden talents

PETALING JAYA, 2 March, 2009 – The children of Rumah Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah were recently showered with much needed love, attention and fun when human resource outsourcing and executive search company CnetG Asia Sdn Bhd held a charity dinner event for them at the Oriental Pearl Restaurant in Bukit Kiara Golf Resort.
The company’s Corporate Responsibility (CR) programme which comprises two components -- Charity and Education & Arts – also served as an opportunity for CnetG Asia’s employees to contribute back to society and at the same time uphold the company’s guiding principles of integrity, compassion, caring and love.
“Passion in People is our company’s tagline, and our management philosophy has always been People First, Profits Later. Hence, in our business where human capability is the most important asset, it is imperative that we strive to assist the underprivileged and provide them with a chance to express their aspirations and talents,” said Manish Mehta, Director, Human Resource Outsourcing, CnetG Asia.
Apart from hosting a dinner for the children of Rumah Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah, CnetG Asia also presented a cheque to the charitable home as well as goodie bags which contained items that the children had requested for in their wish list. Meanwhile, CnetG Asia’s business partners and clients who attended the event also made a contribution by giving away hampers to the children.
Having business partners and clients participate in the event was significant because firstly, it gave them an opportunity to interact with the people they deal with at CnetG Asia and more importantly, they were introduced to the charitable organisations that CnetG Asia is providing assistance to.
“The underlying principle of CnetG Asia’s business is on strong people-orientation. Hence, we are pleased that our business partners and clients were able to experience that in an atmosphere where the focus is really on enhancing relationships and building trust among each other,” explained Manish.
As part of the evening’s activities, the children from the charitable home were encouraged to participate in a drawing contest to express what Chinese New Year meant to them. The children also sang a few songs to entertain the guests while showing off their talent despite their physical and mental disabilities.
“Corporate responsibility is one of the most effective ways for us to demonstrate to our stakeholders that we know what we are doing, and that we are passionate about it,” said P. Raj Kumar, Director, Executive Placements, CnetG Asia.
“We hope that through charitable efforts like this, we will be able to set a leadership role for our industry peers and more importantly to drive home the message that assisting the underprivileged should not be put aside at the expense of profit especially during tough economic times,” added Raj Kumar.
Moving forward, CnetG Asia plans to organise more frequent activities together with its business partners and clients to help the underprivileged. Some of the activities already in the pipeline include serving meals to the poor, and promoting art and singing classes for children.
