The Role
Reporting to the Head of HR Malaysia, you will be a key member of the Country HR team and act as HR Business Partner to the Senior Management team and people leaders in the shared service centre. You will drive the new HR organization comprising of HR Business Partners and CoE to provide HR solutions that help increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

You will be responsible for the commercial organization and the shared services center. You will have 5 HR Business Partners who between them support the commercial organizations and also the Head of the various services the SSC offers (7 services to 16 countries).

The need for a new leader comes at time when the company is facing imminent disruption to the way they do work, including the implementation of robotics and AI in the shared services processing centers which will change the roles of analysts, meeting the demands in managing a multi-generational workforce and having the right leadership skills to manage businesses efficiently.
Job Focus
HR Business Partner
· Works closely with Senior Management team and Country HR Head to identify the critical business/organizational needs, challenges and people trends; develops and implements appropriate HR programs/solutions in close co-operation with relevant HR colleagues within BASF Group to support the business objectives and overall organization strategies
· Serves as consultant in collaboration with HR Centre of Expertise functions, and provides HR expertise, advice and coaching to people leaders on strategic and operational HR matters
· Partners with leaders on organizational development, restructuring and/major change projects,
· Provides support on workforce planning and succession planning; talent acquisition and on-boarding, talent development, employee engagement and retention
· Facilitates performance management calibration and improvement process; provides support on compensation matters including salary planning and merit review, job evaluation, promotions, etc.
· Provides insightful data and analysis to guide decision-making and problem solving on people issues
· Works with people leaders to address all types of industrial relations topics, in compliance with local laws & regulations as well as HR policies and guidelines

Stakeholder Management and Employee Relations
· Ensures effective communications with stakeholders including Senior Management, people leaders and employees
· Anticipates and resolves any issues and/or concerns raised by people managers and employees on HR policies

Team Leadership
· Leads a team of HR Business Partners to ensure the professional delivery of HR services
· Supports and coaches team members to help resolve organizational / employee issues and requests in line with overall Company guidelines and strategy
· Contribution to HR Effectiveness and Efficiency
· Works closely with HR colleagues within BASF Group as ONE HR to provide HR solutions enabling the achievement of business objectives
· Provides constant feedback on the effectiveness of HR programs/initiatives and provide recommendation on further improvement to achieve HR effectiveness and efficiency 
Requirements to succeed in the role
Working Experience
· Minimum 10 years of working experience in Human Resources with at least 4 years in leadership role
· Worked in a constantly evolving business, leading changes, introducing strategic HR interventions with successful outcomes

· Excellent communication, influencing and persuasion skills.
· Able to effectively and creatively challenge people, situations and current thinking.
· Able to develop highly effective working relationships by building credibility, respect and rapport with internal and external networks.
· Strong facilitation and presentation skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work with colleagues across cultures and regions

· Demonstrated people management skills, ability to lead and develop teams

Technical & Professional Knowledge
· Broad knowledge of HR industry practices and generalist experience in HR management, experience in HR shared services or outsourcing industry is an advantage
· Experience in project and change management either on a local, regional or global scale
· Experience in collaborating on a local, regional and/or global scale in implementing HR initiatives
· Experience in building / driving organizational culture
